Pistons shooing guard Jaden Ivey breaks his leg

Detroit Pistons shooting guard Jaden Ivey of South Bend, Indiana will be out long term with a broken left leg. According to Shams Charania of ESPN on Thursday, Ivey is expected to be out for most of the rest of the regular season.
There is a possibility that Ivey could return for the National Basketball Association playoffs. However, at this time it is questionable if the Pistons will be in the postseason with the loss of Ivey from the lineup. With 33 games into the season, the Pistons have a record of 15 wins and 18 losses for a winning percentage of .455. That is good enough for ninth in the Eastern Conference, and one of the four spots in the NBA Play-In Tournament. Detroit at this time would be joined by the Atlanta Hawks, Indiana Pacers and Chicago Bulls.
In 30 games this season, Ivey is averaging 17.6 points per game, 4.1 rebounds per game, and four assists per game. He also has a field goal percentage of .460, three point percentage of .409, and a free throw percentage of .733.
Ivey is also one of four players this season to make a buzzer beater. He broke a 100-100 tie in a 102-100 Pistons win over the Toronto Raptors on November 25. The three other players with a buzzer beater have been Charlotte Hornets Brandon Miller of Antioch, Tennessee in a 108-107 win over the Pistons on November 6, Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum of St. Louis, Missouri in a 126-123 win over the Raptors on November 16, and Minnesota Timberwolves power forward Julius Randle of Dallas, Texas in a 120-117 win over the Phoenix Suns on November 17.
