Phoenix delivers most impressive comeback to begin 2025-26 NBA season

The 2025-26 NBA season is a week old, and the most impressive comeback of the week came in the game between the Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings this past Wednesday. The Suns were down 64-44 with two minutes and 10 seconds left in the second quarter before they came back to win 120-116. Over the last 26 minutes and 10 seconds, the Suns outscored the Kings 76-52.
With the game tied at 110 with one minute and 17 seconds left down the stretch, the Kings ran into foul trouble. Sacramento committed four fouls that led to eight Phoenix points.

The Suns were led by guard Devin Booker of Grand Rapids. Michigan. Booker had 31 points. Three more Suns players reached double digits in scoring. Canadian small forward Dillon Brooks of Mississauga, Ontario, who came to Phoenix in the offseason from the Houston Rockets in the Kevin Durant deal, had 22 points, shooting guard Grayson Allen of Jacksonville, Florida, had 18 points, small forward Royce O’Neale of Killen, Texas had 12 points. Meanwhile, two Suns players reached double digits in rebounds. Center Mark Williams of Norfolk, Virginia had 11 boards and small forward Ryan Dunn of New Hyde Park, New York had 10 boards.

Even though Phoenix came through with an impressive comeback, they have lost their last three games since. They were beaten 129-102 by the Los Angeles Clippers on October 24, 133-111 by the Denver Nuggets on October 25, and 138-134 in overtime by the Utah Jazz on October 27. In the Jazz win over the Suns, Jazz center Lauri Markkanen of Vantaa, Finland had 51 points.
