New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft of Brookline, Massachusetts is continuing to do his part for the coronavirus relief effort. According to Mike Reiss of ESPN on Sunday, it was reported that Kraft is auctioning off his Super Bowl ring from Super Bowl LI, with the proceeds going to the All in Challenge.

The All in Challenge is a global fundraiser which is helping charitable companies provide food to those in need during these horrendous uncertain times. The companies that will benefit from Kraft’s generosity are Feeding America, Meals on Wheels, World Central Kitchen, and No Kid Hungry.

Kraft’s Super Bowl ring had an opening bid of $75,000. By Monday afternoon, it had reached $650,000. If the winner is living in the United States (except Alaska or Hawaii), he or she will be flown to Boston on Kraft’s private jet, and then will receive the ring from Kraft himself in the Patriots’ Trophy Room.

The 51st Super Bowl, which was won by the Patriots in 2017, will be remembered as one of the most memorable Super Bowls of all-time. The Atlanta Falcons once led the Patriots 28-3 in the third quarter, before New England scored 25 unanswered points in regulation to tie the game, and then got a game-winning touchdown on a two-yard run by running back James White of Fort Lauderdale, Florida in overtime.

This is not the first time that Kraft has made a significant contribution to the coronavirus relief effort. In April he worked closely with Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker. Kraft was able to get the Patriots plane to China, so 1.2 million N95 masks could be sent to healthcare workers in Massachusetts. There are currently 78, 462 cases of coronavirus in Massachusetts and 5, 108 deaths.
