According to Max Schreiber of Golf Channel on Sunday, LIV golfers Pat Perez of Phoenix, Arizona, and Carlos Ortiz of Guadalajara, Mexico have withdrawn their lawsuit against the PGA Tour. The reason for Perez’s withdrawal is because he realized he did not have too many negative feelings toward the PGA Tour, and was actually grateful for his 21 years on the PGA Tour. Ortiz’s manager meanwhile does not want to get involved into any legal battles.

The withdrawals of Perez and Ortiz means there are only nine golfers suing the PGA Tour at the moment. They are Phil Mickelson, Bryson DeChambeau, Talor Gooch, Australia’s own Matt Jones, Hudson Swafford, Abraham Ancer, Jason Kokrak, Ian Poulter and Peter Uihlein. The reason for the lawsuit is because the golfers want the opportunity to participate on the PGA Tour and LIV Tour.

The LIV Tour will resume again after the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup Playoffs. Gooch, Swafford and Jones were trying to participate in the FedEx Cup Playoffs, but had their bid denied as they “failed to demonstrate their exclusion from the PGA Tour’s season-ending event(s) amounted to irreparable harm, noting that they stand to earn more money by competing in the LIV Golf Tour.”

The FedEx Cup Playoffs are heading into the third and final week with Masters champion Scottie Scheffler in the lead as he enters Atlanta at -10. It has been quite the year for Scheffler. He has also won the World Match Play Championship, the Phoenix Open and Arnold Palmer Invitational.
