“About 3.10am on Monday, 16 September, police responded to a request from a licensed premises regarding two men allegedly behaving aggressively, smashing glasses, and refusing to leave,” the police statement reads.

“After engagement with police, the men left, however a short time later, re-entered the premises. A third member of the group escorted the two men out of the premises again, and they departed the location a short time later. Enquiries in relation to this matter are continuing.”

Papali’i has one year left on his $800,000-a-season deal with the Raiders. He’s played 305 games for the club since debuting in 2011 and boasts another 23 Queensland State of Origin caps.

This Mad Monday incident follows Papali’i being arrested by police in 2017 after he called them to tell them he was drink driving. The Raiders star called triple-zero “in order to prove a point.” When picked up by the police, he blew 0.123 on a breathalyser. He was later fined $1,000 as well as being disqualified from driving for eight months.
