Packers off to a great start after win over Commanders
5 months ago - Sportingbase
The Green Bay Packers are off to a 2-0 start to the 2025 National Football League regular season. So far they have beaten two franchises that had great seasons in 2024. In week one, the Packers beat the Detroit Lions (the NFL franchise with the best regular season record in 2024 at 15 wins and two losses) by a score of 27-13. In week two on Thursday, the Packers beat the Washington Commanders (the NFC Championship finalists) by a score of 27-18.
In Thursday’s week two win, we saw the evolution of Packers tight end Tucker Kraft of Timber Lake, South Dakota. Kraft had six catches for 124 receiving yards and one touchdown. Kraft’s major score was an eight yard touchdown catch from quarterback Jordan Love of Bakersfield, California with eight minutes and 57 seconds left in the fourth quarter which put the Packers up 24-10 at the time.

Kraft’s 124 receiving yards was a career-high. In fact, it was the first time in his NFL career he reached the century mark in receiving yards in a game. Kraft’s previous high in yards in a game was 88 yards and came in a 24-19 Packers win over the Los Angeles Rams on October 6, 2024.
Now in the coming weeks, expect Kraft to get even more looks from Love. That is because Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed of Naperville, Illinois broke his collarbone and is out indefinitely.
Reed is one of two players who suffered a serious injury. Commanders running back Austin Ekeler appears to have torn his Achilles, but the Commanders are awaiting confirmation from medical experts.
CHANCES ARE YOU’RE ABOUT TO LOSE.
