Week eight of the National Football League season was unique because the biggest game of the week was the first game–as the undefeated Arizona Cardinals were facing the 6-1 Green Bay Packers. In a game that came right down to the finish to determine the winner, the Cardinals and Packers lived up to the game’s hype, as the Packers came through with a 24-21 victory to give Arizona their first loss of the season.

The Packers’ hero on Thursday however was not on the offensive side of the football, but the defensive side. Cornerback Rasul Douglas of East Orange, New Jersey, had the game-winning interception with only 15 seconds left in the fourth quarter to preserve the Packers’ three-point lead.

The Cardinals were going for the win rather than the tie, when Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray threw the ball into the end zone to try and find wide receiver A.J. Green. However the Cardinals had a case of miscommunication as Green was clearly not anticipating the football.

For Douglas, it was his first interception of the season and sixth of his career, but no interception has ever been bigger. All five of Douglas’s prior interceptions came while with the Philadelphia Eagles. He had two interceptions in 2017 and three interceptions in 2018.

On the offensive side of the football on Thursday, the Packers were led by running back Aaron Jones, who had 110 total yards (59 rushing yards and 51 receiving yards) and one touchdown. Aaron Rodgers completed 22 of 37 passes for 184 yards, and two touchdowns, with both of his major scores going to Randall Cobb.
