The Indiana Pacers made NBA headlines on Sunday with a significant comeback against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Indiana was once down 74-47 with six minutes and 53 seconds left in the third quarter before outscoring the Cavaliers 79-44 en route to a 126-118 win in double overtime. The 27-point comeback is the biggest comeback in the NBA this season and the biggest comeback in Pacers’s franchise history.

The previous biggest comeback in 2024-25 was 26 points. The Boston Celtics came back from a 90-64 deficit to beat the Philadelphia 76ers 118-110 on February 2, and the Los Angeles Clippers came back from a 40-14 deficit to beat the San Antonio Spurs 113-104 on November 4.

The previous biggest comeback by the Pacers was 25 points. Indiana was down 56-31 to the Detroit Pistons on March 15, 2014, before winning 112-104.

Six Pacers reached double digits in scoring on Sunday. Point guard Quenton Jackson of Los Angeles, California had 21 points, shooting guard Johnny Furphy of Melbourne, Australia had 15 points, center Tony Bradley of Bartow, Florida had 14 points, point guard RayJ Dennis of Plainfield, Illinois had 13 points, power forward Jarace Walker of New Freedom, Pennsylvania had 11 points, and small forward Aaron NeSmith of Charleston, South Carolina had 10 points. Bradley had a double double as he had 14 rebounds. With the win, the Pacers finished the season at 50 wins and 32 comebacks.

The Cavaliers had a comeback of their own on Friday. They were once down 48-25 to the New York Knicks with three minutes and 34 seconds into the second quarter before winning 108-102. Cleveland outscored New York 83-54 down the stretch.

Six Cavaliers reached double digits in scoring. Guard Darius Garland of Gary, Indiana had 26 points, small forward Max Strus of Hickory Hills, Illinois had 19 points, power forward Evan Mobley of San Diego, California had 16 points, shooting guard Isaac Okoro of Atlanta, Georgia had 15 points, and center Jarrett Allen of San Diego, California and point guard Craig Porter of Terre Haute, Indiana had 11 points each. Three Cavaliers had double doubles. Allen had 13 rebounds, Garland had 13 assists, and Mobley had 10 rebounds.
