Our three best tips for the 2024 Pebble Beach Pro-Am

The 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am takes place from northern California on Thursday. The event is unique throughout the golf world because high profile celebrities participate among the very best golfers the PGA Tour has to offer. Here are the three golfers we like the best this week.

Jordan Spieth

The 30-year-old from Dallas, Texas has had great success at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in the past. He won the title in 2017, by shooting a four-round score of -19, and beating Kelly Kraft of Denton, Texas by four strokes. Spieth finished in second place in 2022, and finished only two strokes back of the champion, Tom Hoge of Statesville, North Carolina.

Max Homa

The 33-year-old from Burbank, California is considered a contender because of his past three performances at Pebble. He was 10th there in 2019, 14th there in 2020, and seventh there in 2021. Homa has had great success in California. Of his six PGA Tour victories, four have come in the avocado state. He won the 2021 Genesis Invitational in Los Angeles, the Fortinet Championship in Napa twice (in 2021 and 2022), and the 2023 Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego.

Patrick Cantlay

The 31-year-old from Long Beach, California needs to be considered a contender for his consistency. According to CBS Sports on Wednesday, Cantlay finished in the top 10 a total of 10 times in 2023, and made 19 of 21 cuts last season. Even though Cantlay did not get in the winner’s circle in 2023, he has been in contention, even though he has received some criticism for his slow play.
