Our three best tips for the 2024 Mexico Open
2 years ago - Sportingbase
For the first time this year, the PGA Tour is going outside the United States with the Mexico Open. This will be the third year the Mexico Championship is part of the PGA Tour after being part of the Challenge Tour, the Tour Latinoamerica, the PGA Tour Latinoamerica, the Nationwide Tour, and the web.com Tour. Here are three golfers we like the most this week at the Mexico Open.
Tony Finau
The native of Salt Lake City, Utah has been great at the last two Mexico Opens. He was victorious in 2023, and was the runner-up to Spain’s Jon Rahm in 2022. Last year, Finau shot a four round score of -24, and two years ago shot a four round score of -17. There are some concerns with his putting to start the year, but the bottom line is he is -41 in Mexico over the last two years, and is set for a repeat.

Emiliano Grillo
The native of Resistencia, Argentina is 31 years of age, and finished in fifth place last year with a very respectable score of -16. He was also victorious on the PGA Tour in 2023, as he won the Charles Schwab Challenge in Dallas.

Patrick Rodgers
The native of Avon, Indiana finished 10th at the 2023 Mexico Open and has a top 10 result on the PGA Tour in 2024 as he was ninth in the Farmers Insurance Open in Torrey Pines at the end of January. Rodgers also finished 10th at the 2022 Mexico Open too.
