The final major of the 2023 golf calendar takes place on Thursday from Royal Liverpool in England. Here are the three golfers I like the most to win at the 151st British Open.
Cameron Smith
The native of Brisbane, Australia won the 2022 British Open. Smith not only won last year at St. Andrews, he posted a four round score of -20 which tied the record for the best four round score ever at a major championship. Smith is also coming a great performance on the LIV Golf London event. He posted a winning score of -15 and beat fellow Australian Marc Leishman of Warrnambool and 2018 Masters champion Patrick Reed of San Antonio, Texas by a stroke. It was Smith’s second LIV Tour victory. He previously won in Chicago last September.

Brooks Koepka
The native of West Palm Beach, Florida was outstanding at the first two majors of the year. He was second at the Masters before winning the PGA Championship. Heading into the year, there was a belief by many that LIV golfers would not be mentally sharp heading into the majors. With Koepka’s great performances in 2023, that opinion is now mythical. In addition to his PGA Championship win, Koepka won earlier this year on the LIV Tour in Orlando.

Collin Morikawa
The native of Los Angeles, California is a two-time major champion as he won the 2020 PGA Championship and 2021 British Open. The 26-year-old is heading into England with momentum. Earlier this month, he was in a playoff at the Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit before losing to Rickie Fowler.
