The 2022 John Deere Classic is known as a golf tournament throughout the year which is part of the dog days of golf. It happens between the majors (United States Open and British Open), and you do not tend to see a lot of superstars participating. That said, it gives some golfers an opportunity to be in the spotlight that you seldom here of. Here are three golfers who could have the game to win at TPC Deere Run in Quad Cities, Illinois starting Thursday.

1) Webb Simpson

A major champion from a decade ago at the 2012 United States Open at the Olympic Club in San Francisco, one thing you have to realize about Simpson is he has been a solid finisher throughout his career. He may not be a star name heading into a tournament, but he has won seven times on the PGA Tour including the 2018 Players Championship. A decade ago when he won in northern California, the early focus was on Jim Furyk, Tiger Woods, and Graeme McDowell. But after back-to-back round scores of 68, it was Simpson that won the major tournament despite a score of +1. Ranked 58th in the world, Simpson has made eight of 11 cuts in 2022, including a 13th place finish at The Travelers’ Championship.
