Not often I’ll back someone coming off an injury but this spot is too good to ignore for him and there isn’t a minute restriction. His minutes have fluctuated a little and with Boogie’s strong play it may cut into him a little at the centre spot but they may see some overlap so we can expect 32-34. Doesn’t need big minutes anyway as he’s super productive and gets to play with two good PNR ball handlers today. The Rockets run a ton of PNR with 7.8% of their sets (3rd in league) which results in the 4th most points per game. I don’t have the stats to see the difference in the Blazers PNR defence between Nurkic/Kanter – but I imagine they are significant and either way Portland have given up the 7th most points to the PNR man over this season. Opponents eFG% goes up 3.5 while Kanter is on the floor which is 17th percentile amongst bigs (bad).
