Kawhi is playing huge minutes, and as a result Grant is too as his primary defender. Matched him exactly last game with both guys playing 42:15 and Grant now has 107 of his 108 minutes on Kawhi in the series. The production hasn’t been there for Grant, but the opportunity has and Clippers have been more than happy to help off him which is resulting in some great looks. Through the 3 games he’s had 16! open or wide open looks from 3 but has only been able to hit 3 of them. It’s a dangerous move from the Clippers as Grant has proven to be more than capable shooter (back to back 39% regular season, 41% in the series against Jazz)

His minutes are trending up with 12,15,20 through the 3 games. Even in limited minutes he’s managed to cover this two of the three games. He’s at 0.69 PRA per minute in the series which is right around his season average of 0.64. Rivers said he “was huge” down the stretch, and he was with some big moments defensively so if he’s able I think he could push into the mid 20s here. He’s been getting some great looks, being open or wide open on all 8 of his 3 point attempts in the series.

He’s had 10,14 boards over his last 2 and with this Nuggets team proving to be a bit more difficult than expected, Doc isn’t taking any chances and is playing Kawhi big minutes getting up to 42:15 in G3. He’s passing the ball beautifully and it’s really showed up in the box score over the last couple with 8,6 dimes. He’s getting a bunch of potentials averaging 16 over those last 2 so can feel pretty good about them being there again.
