Our Black Book: Horses You Must Follow From Randwick 5/4

The replays and sectional times have been reviewed from Day 1 of The Championships at Randwick on Saturday. Our analyst has found a pair of impressive 2yos to follow forward and a smart filly worth forgiving.  

King of Pop

The Ryan & Alexiou 2yo was fantastic in the Kindergarten Stakes. He settled behind the leader and had to spend the first 100m of the straight barging his was out of a pocket. He grinded to the line nicely the final furlong but couldn’t quite bridge the 2L gap and instead finished 0.2L 2nd. He is only 4 starts into his career and should continue to improve. 

Vinrock

The Sire Produce winner looks another 2yo to be following from Day 1 of The Championships after improving his career record to 3 wins from 3 starts with a 0.2L win. Whilst there were hard luck stories behind him, the fact he was able to rally through on the inferior inside ground was impressive. He is another that should be able to go to another level. 

Clean Energy

It should pay to stick with the Waterhouse/Bott filly after she was caught off the track the whole way but still stuck it out to run a game 0.3L 4^th with the winner peeling off her back the last 200m after a much softer run.
