Our Black Book: Horses You Must Follow From Randwick 26/4
10 months ago - Sportingbase
The replays and sectional times have been reviewed from Saturday’s Randwick meeting. Our analyst has found a trio of runners that caught the eye making up good ground on a day where the +9m Rail made it difficult to do so.
Pajanti
The Ryan/Alexiou mare returned in great order recording an unlucky 0.75L 2nd. She settled a long way back and was caught in a really awakward position smothered up between runners until the 200m. When a split came she rocketed home but all the way leader Memoria had already done enough by that stage. They ran 0.55 seconds quicker than the colts and geldings in the race prior, which indicates it is a race where the form should hold up from moving forward.
Spione
The lightly raced Hawkes 4yo hit the line really nicely once he saw clear running at the 250m. He was 2nd up with no official trial so you’d expect him to be peaking 3rd up.
Good Banter
The Tavistock mare was another that hit the line nicely but she managed to do it down the outside, which no other runner on the day was able to do in the same fashion. She was 1st up over a mile and looks suited getting out to 1800m-2000m on a wet surface.
