Our analyst has looked over the times & replays from Saturday’s Moonee Valley meeting and has found six horses that you must follow next start.

STOLI BOLLI

He was the recipient of a Blake Shinn masterclass ride but there was a lot to like about his win. He swept past the talented Gallant Son, who was also very good for his second start, and won easing up. He ran the quickest time of the four 1200m events recording 1.09.62 seconds which was .29 seconds faster than Southport Tycoon’s win in the Manikato Stakes.

WAR MACHINE

Great return to racing with a first-up second to the winning machine Baraqiel. Again Shinn produced a perfect ride but he couldn’t get past Baraqiel. He recorded his first defeat this year but he signified he’s in for a good campaign especially when he gets to 1400m.

ZEITUNG

Gave away a big start in the Scarborough Stakes after Jamie Kah went back on her from a wide barrier. She rocketed home in the third fastest last 200m for the night of 11.57 seconds down the middle of the track which wasn’t the place to be as it was a night which favoured horses who raced closer to the fence.

HENLEIN

He’s a horse with a stack of staying potential. He finished on powerfully for second to Evaporate and was strong after the line. That was his first run over 1600 metres and the son of Dundeel will be better suited over 2000 metres and longer. He’s a potential Victoria Derby horse.

I WISH I WIN

Don’t underestimate him as a chance in The Everest after this run. He was drawn out on a night which didn’t suit backmarkers, nor horses running on down the middle of the track. His last 200m was in 11.60 seconds which was the equal second fastest closing split with Climbing Star in the race. He was also recorded to run eight metres further than the winner. A track with give in it will also suit him.

CLIMBING STAR

She continued on her upward spiral to being one of the better sprinters in work dashing home to finish fourth behind Southport Tycoon. She had to go back from a wide draw and finished on in the same closing sectional for the last 200m of 11.60 seconds as I Wish I Win. She’ll be a chance in whatever Phil Stokes selects for her next.
