Our analyst has looked over the times & replays from Saturday’s Moonee Valley meeting and has found five horses that you must follow next start.

SUPERCILIOUS

Her chances were ruined when she was slow to begin from the outside barrier. She wasn’t aided by Blake Shinn on Certain Rise controlling the speed and then developing it into a sprint home. She finished quickly with her last 400m in 22.94 seconds which was the seventh fastest for the day. She will be a chance up the Flemington straight over 1200m during the carnival.

DOUBLE MARKET

Team Hayes has a very talented three-year-old filly who made it two wins from two starts when she took out the Fillies Classic. The daughter of Castelvecchio looks like she has a lot to learn still. She possesses a big stride and she will be better suited over a longer journey and at Flemington.

I AM UNSTOPPABLE

On the back of his second in the McEwen Stakes he could be ready to grab his first Group 1 when he tackles the VRC Sprint Championship on the final day. He went back to last from his wide draw and sprinted home powerfully from last to finish second behind Baraqiel recording the fastest last 200m for the meeting of 11.35 seconds. He races well down the Flemington straight and that was close to the best run of his career.

POISON CHALICE

It was a nightmare watch for anybody who backed him as he should have won. He had a good position early which he lost and was then shuffled back from third to a mid-field position and stuck in traffic. RV stewards noted that he was held up from the 400m to the 200m and then in the straight he was held up and also crowded. Somehow, he was only beaten 1.36 lengths.

CHARISSE

She was slow to begin and gave away a big start in the 2040 metres mares race where she was a bit flat footed when the sprint went on. She went the widest in the straight and really stretched out well over the concluding stages with her last 200m of 11.86 seconds easily the fastest in the race. The winning time for the 2040m was easily the second quickest time for day of the four races run that day.
