Our analyst has looked over the times & replays from Saturday’s Caulfield meeting and has found five horses that you must follow next start.

POINT BARROW

Impressive debut and put his hand up as a legitimate Blue Diamond chance next year with his third behind the professional Palm Angel in the Merson Cooper Stakes which is invariably a pointer to the bigger juvenile races. He was green early and late when he charged home. Not sure he liked the going either. His last 200m of 11.71 seconds was the second fastest of the meeting. The Freedman’s have a smart one.

SOMEWHERE

She demonstrated her potential with a third in the Group 2 Sandown Guineas at only her second start. The daughter of Puissance De Lune was slow to begin and was held up for a run in the straight. When she got clear she didn’t aid her chances by shifting in. Archie Alexander will have a lot of fun with her in the years to come.

POISON CHALICE

He deserves another win as he’s had little luck at his past three starts. He was the only galloper in the front division of the Eclipse Stakes to be in the finish as the others dropped off after setting a fast pace. He looked certain to win but tired and the winner New Energy had to knock Earlswood over in the closing stages to gain the run which netted the win. New Energy’s rider Marl Zahra was subsequently suspended.
