Our analyst has looked over the times & replays from Saturday’s Caulfield meeting and has found five horses that you must follow next start.

SERASANA

Good effort second-up sitting outside the leader on a day where she worked into the wind. She still looked likely to win early in the straight but tired in the last 100 metres and just missed third placing. She should be ready to win at her next start when she is third-up from a spell.

Connections decided to get cover rather than lead into the headwind as he had done previously but unfortunately that tactic didn’t pay off as he was held up from the 400m to the 150m mark. Doubt he would have beaten Pisces but he certainly would have gone close.

Brave effort to finish second in the Thoroughbred Club Stakes where she was just bloused by the outsider Jasmin Rouge. She had to race three wide throughout and shared the lead into the headwind. Despite that she kicked clear and fought on bravely. She deserves another win.

AELIANA

What a superb run from this top class three-year-old filly. In a nutshell everything which could go wrong did go wrong. She failed to handle the track and still almost won. She was tightened for room at the 300m mark which should have put her out of the race but she exploded home in the second fastest last 200m of the day of 11.33 seconds.

CIGAR FLICK

If she had of got clear running earlier she might have gone close. She flew home to finish fifth behind the smart Niance. She had a bumping dual with Infancy at the 200m to get her out in the clear and she exploded home in 11.19 seconds which was the fastest last split for any runner on the day.
