Our Black Book: Horses You Must Follow From Caulfield 13/7
2 years ago - Sportingbase
Our analyst has reviewed the sectional times, ratings & replays from last Saturday’s Caulfield meeting & has placed four horses you must follow in our black book below.
MANOLO BLING
Impressive debut from the Grunt two-year-old filly. She had little trouble taking up a forward spot from the outset and travelled well throughout for Ethan Brown. When he asked her to quicken she responded and was able to get the better of front runner Husk with 100m to go. She won with something in hand.

BEREZKA/KALIMNA VIEWS
Both two-year-old fillies gave away a big start and were trapped wide on a day which played to on-pacers and horses who travelled near the fence. They were able to run home strongly both recording 12.39 seconds for their last 200 metres which was the equal fifth fastest closing sectional for the day.
ALDER
Sound Australian debut from the Irish import as he had a bit against him as he had the outside barrier and top-weight. He was also slow to begin. On a day which played to on-pacers he gave away a big start and had to race wide. He finished off nicely to finish fifth. He will be better suited over 2000m and further.

MAJOR SHARE
Warrnambool trained sprinter who suffered his first loss but lost no admirers with a brave second to Marble Nine who had a perfect run. He also carried 1.5 kilos more than Marble Nine who out-toughed him. Both of those gallopers would have filled the placings in the Sir John Monash Stakes on times.
