Our Black Book: Horses You Must Follow From Canterbury & Randwick 14/12
1 year ago - Sportingbase
The replays and sectional times have been reviewed from the weekend’s racing at Canterbury and Randwick. Our analyst has found a highly promising Waterhouse/Bott filly and an unlucky Godolphin mare to follow.
Gerringong
Keen to stick with Gerrigong after the Waterhouse/Bott filly made it 2 from 2 on Friday night. It was never in doubt after she went straight the the front and showed great acceleration at the top of the straight to win by 1.8L eased down. She likely heads to the Magic Millions now where there should be a nice 1200m race for her.

The Godolphin mare is starting to become costly after a pair of unlucky defeats this prep but her run in the final race at Randwick yesterday was sensational. She sat 3 wide no cover behind the speed for the trip and still looked the winner at the 250m before the tough run took its’ toll the final furlong. She finished a brave 1.8L 3rd. I see no reason to be jumping off in a similar race next start. The Godolphin team are effective at getting them a win whilst they’re racing well.
