Opinion: Hawks expected to trade Trae Young soon
2 months ago - Sportingbase
The rumour mills are swirling at the moment regarding Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young of Lubbock, Texas. Young is currently out with a quad injury, and has not been in the Hawks lineup since December 27.
It has been a tough season for Young because the statistics simply do not lie. In games where Young has played with the Hawks this season, they have a record of only two wins and eight losses. In the 28 games where Young has not played, the Hawks have a winning record of 15 wins and 13 losses.
The team that Young could be traded to are the Washington Wizards. Washington is reportedly looking to trade shooting guard C.J. McCollum, who is in the final year of a contract where is making $30.7 million.

This season, Young is averaging 19.3 points per game, 8.9 assists per game, 1.5 rebounds per game and one steal per game. He has a field goal percentage of .415, three point percentage of .305, and a free throw percentage of .863. The four-time All-Star led the NBA in assists last season with 11.6 helpers per game.

The quad injury is the second injury that Young has had this season. He missed Halloween night, the entire month of November, and the first half of December with a sprained Medial Collateral Ligament.
When Young first stared out with the Hawks, there was a lot of buzz. However, the Hawks have been unable to win a playoff series in five years, and there is simply a belief in Atlanta that now is the time for change.
