According to Yasmin Syed of Express, Novak Djokovic of Belgrade, Serbia has decided to withdraw from the 2024 ATP Finals. The event is to start on Sunday from Turin, Italy. The reason for the withdrawal is due to injury, but Djokovic has not been specific on what the injury actually is.

Djokovic has won a record seven ATP Finals. He made history last year with his seventh title by beating Jannik Sinner of Italy in the final, 6-3, 6-3. Djokovic has actually won the last two ATP Finals in Turin. In 2022, he beat Casper Ruud of Norway in the final, 7-5, 6-3. Djokovic’s first ATP Final title came in 2008 in Shanghai, China. He then won four straight years from 2012 to 2015, when the event was in London, England.

The fact that Djokovic has withdrawn from the ATP Finals is not a huge surprise. He withdrew from the Paris Masters last month too. Still, tennis fans would like to know what Djokovic’s specific injury is. He was vacationing in Maldives around the time he withdrew from the Paris indoor event.

Djokovic is publicly disappointed with how his 2024 tennis season went. His expression of displeasure occurred even though he won the gold medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Now that Djokovic has pulled out of the ATP Finals in Turin, we know the eight players who are participating. They are Russia’s Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev, Italy’s Jannik Sinner, Germany’s Alexander Zverev, Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz, American Taylor Fritz, Norway’s Casper Ruud and Australia’s Alex de Minaur of Sydney.
