For the third time in his National Basketball Association career, Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic of Sombor, Serbia has been named the NBA most valuable player award winner according to Michael Grange of Rogers Sportsnet on Wednesday. He previously received the honour in 2021 and 2022.

Jokic won the award this past season despite the fact he did not lead the NBA in a single category. He once again averaged a double double as he had 26.4 points per game, and 12.4 rebounds per game. Jokic also had nine assists per game, and 1.4 steals per game, a field goal percentage of .583, three point percentage of .359, and a free throw percentage of .817.

For the sixth straight season, Jokic was a NBA All-Star. What makes him such an explosive player and one of the most electrifying players in the entire league is the fact he is a big man that has such an incredible and dynamic all around skill set. In any offensive possession, you will never know if Jokic will dunk, shoot from long range, or pass.

Jokic has 25 triple-doubles in 2023-24 (only behind second only to Domantas Sabonis of the Sacramento Kings who led the NBA with 26). He is also already fourth all-time in NBA history with 130 triple doubles.

Even though Jokic won the NBA’s greatest individual prize this year, he has a lot of work to do at the moment in guiding the Nuggets to their second straight NBA Finals title. Denver is currently down two games to none to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the playoffs.
