According to Basketball Reference on Tuesday, Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic of Sombor, Serbia became the sixth player in National Basketball Association history to record 100 triple doubles in his career. He accomplished the feat in a 133-112 Nuggets win over the Houston Rockets at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
In the milestone night, Jokic had 14 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. So far this season, he is averaging 24.6 points per game, 11.7 rebounds per game, and exactly 10 assists per game. Jokic’s 10 assists per game are also a career high.
The five-time All-Star also has a career-high 24 triple doubles, which leads the NBA. Jokic also had 19 triple doubles last season which also was the best in the league.

The five other players to reach the century mark in triple doubles are Russell Westbrook of Long Beach, California (198), Oscar Robertson of Charlotte, Tennessee (184), Magic Johnson of Lansing, Michigan (138), Jason Kidd of San Francisco, California (107), and LeBron James (106). James also reached the century club in triple doubles this season. Westbrook meanwhile made NBA headlines recently when he came to terms with the Los Angeles Clippers.
What makes Jokic’s 100 triple doubles so special is the fact he is a center. Jokic is on pace to set the NBA record for most assists per game by a center in a single regular season. Wilt Chamberlain had the old record as he had 8.6 assists per game with the Philadelphia 76ers in 1967-68.
The Nuggets meanwhile lead the Western Conference. They are at 44 wins and 19 losses and lead the Milwaukee Bucks by five and a half games.
