NFL Game Of The Week: Rams V Chiefs – Stats, Odds, Insights, & Predictions

Our NFL Game of the Week is between two of the best teams in the league with the same 9-1 record.

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (9-1) $2.40 @ LOS ANGELES RAMS (9-1) $1.60

Tuesday, Nov. 20, 12:15am AEDT.

Monday, Nov. 19, 8:15pm ET. Los Angeles, CA. Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (78,467).

This week is full of matchups worthy of our Game of the Week. The Packers v Seahawks has become an important rivalry in the league and every time they face something crazy seems to happen. The Vikings v the Bears is a divisional match between two teams fighting for a playoff berth. If the Bears win that game they will be in prime position to win the NFC North for the first time since 2010. The list goes on within intriguing matchups (Titans v Colts, Eagles v Saints etc.).

Maybe it’s just an intriguing time of the year.

At Week 11 the league starts to take shape. For many teams it’s win now or say goodbye to the playoff. For others it’s prove your worth against the best teams in the league to build confidence and secure home-field advantage for your inevitable playoff run.

The latter is our GOTW.

The Rams v the Chiefs could be a Superbowl preview. Despite all the other storylines heading into Week 11, you just can’t top the two best teams (besides the Saints) facing off on Monday Night Football.

The other thing this game has going for it is the potency of both offences. If you like touchdowns, you’ll like this game. If both teams don’t tally at least 30 points each, everyone would be surprised.

On paper, the Rams look more well-rounded than the Chiefs. The season stats don’t show the story of the last two weeks though. Since facing the Saints and Seahawks, the Rams have dropped in every defensive category.

The Chiefs have consistently given up yards this year: they’re bottom five in yards allowed per game. The key word is consistently. They have managed to win 9/10 games this year with that weakness. Aside from their unstoppable offence, the way they’ve managed to win games on the defensive end is by making sacks and turnovers, and stopping opponents when they need to. They are tied for first in sacks and sixth in opponent third down percentage.

That’s enough to win in the modern NFL. The New England Patriots have made a (second) dynasty out of it over the last decade.

The Rams have a case to win this game too. People got high on the Saints and low on the Rams really quick after their Week 9 match.

But to be fair, the Rams are still 9-1, and are coming off a gutsy win against the Seahawks last week. The fact is they’re still a top-3 team in the league, they still have one of the best coaches in the game, they still have the best running back in the game, and they still have a star quarterback who doesn’t get enough credit for the “wow” throws he makes every week.

This one could go either way.

Our Tip

The Chiefs are decent chance of winning this game, but it’ll be tough on the road.

The Chiefs +3.5 @ $1.92 is good value in what will be a close game.
