NEW YORK JETS SHOCK THE DALLAS COWBOYS IN NFL WEEK SIX ACTION

The New York Jets provided one of the most shocking upsets in the 2019 National Football League action to date. On Sunday afternoon at the Meadowlands, the winless Jets shocked the Dallas Cowboys 24-22.

The Cowboys entered the game as 7.5 point favourites according to CBS Sports, but had an absolutely pitiful first half, as they trailed the Jets 21-6. In the second half, the Cowboys controlled the play, but were unable to get a major score on the opening drive of the third quarter as they had to settle for a field goal. Then in the fourth quarter, Cowboys kicker Brett Maher missed a 40 yard field goal after successfully kicking a 62 yard field goal on the final play of the first half. Then during the Cowboys final drive, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott successfully scored on a four yard touchdown run to pull them within two points, but then completely failed in their attempt to tie the game as their two point conversion try was never even close.

The Jets first half offense was simply outstanding. Jets quarterback Sam Darnold was able to dominate the Cowboys secondary with ease. The half was highlighted by a 92 yard touchdown pass from Darnold to Robbie Anderson, which at the time made the score 14-3 Jets. On the previous play, the Cowboys decided to gamble on fourth and two on the Jets eight yard line. Choosing to gamble rather than kick an easy field goal proved to be a wrong decision for the Cowboys. Dallas could have really used those points late in the fourth quarter when they were attempting their comeback. 

With the loss, Dallas now falls to a record of three wins and three losses and are tied for first with the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East. The Jets won their first game of the season after losing their first four contests.
