New Orleans Saints put in vaccination regulations for fans in 2021

According to Chris Cwik of Yahoo! Sports, the New Orleans Saints have put in regulations for spectators for the 2021 National Football League season. All fans must show proof that they have been vaccinated or have had a negative coronavirus test within the last 72 hours before attending a game.
What the Saints are doing is a positive step and need to be applauded for being the first National Football League team to put in regulations. However, the regulations are not far enough. At this time, it does not state that spectators need to be double vaccinated, and the regulation that unvaccinated spectators are allowed into the Caesars Superdome if they have had a negative coronavirus test within the last 72 hours, should be rejected by the New Orleans government immediately and harshly criticized. Unvaccinated spectators should not be allowed in stadiums. Period. It should not matter if they have had a negative coronavirus test within 72 hours or not.
It is also been reported by Cwik that the Saints reportedly argued with New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell over spectators at the Caesars Superdome in 2020. The Saints almost moved their home games to the famous college stadium in Baton Rouge (home of the Louisiana State Tigers University) for their NFL games, just so they could get spectators. Based on what is happening this year from what happened last season, Cantrell deserves more praise for the restrictions the New Orleans government has enforced on the Saints rather than the Saints organization themselves.

Don’t get me wrong. It was great to have a NFL season in 2020. However, coronavirus was a serious problem the NFL faced.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League and the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League should be considered the North American leaders when it comes to dealing with the pandemic. The Blue Bombers are currently not allowing any spectators in their stadium that have not been double vaccinated, and the Jets will follow and do the same for the fall.
