NEASHAM’S SWEET VALLEY RIDE

ANNABEL Neasham conceded Sweet Ride had things go his way when she won at The Valley a fortnight ago as he attempts to make it two in a row in the Listed Carlyon Stakes over 1000 metres on Saturday.
Sweet Ride gave Neasham her first Melbourne winner since she set up a satellite stable at Pakenham under the supervision of respected horseman Bill Papazaharoudakis.

Neasham said on RSN that Sweet Ride’s effort to win two weeks ago was brilliant but she pointed out that a few of her rivals including Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott’s Omni Man, who is also in the Carlyon Stakes, missed the kick.
“I think Gai’s horse, Omni Man, was a bit unlucky the other day, but that’s the nice thing about my horse, he’ll be close in the run,” Neasham said.
Although Sweet Ride goes up three kilos and meets Omni Man 1.5 kilos worse, Neasham said he had drawn an inside barrier of three on this occasion and he could use his speed to take up a good position.
“He’s drawn to get the run of the race and he’s just a really honest horse,” Neasham said.
“He very rarely puts in a bad run bit it is a step up again in opposition, however the fact that he’s on speed and makes his own luck, it certainly helps around that track.”
Sweet Ride is a $7 chance with PlayUp. The favourite is Omni Man at $3.20.
James Cummings is also exuding confidence that his three-year-old filly Inhibitions can take out the other stakes race on the program, the sixth race.
Inhibitions is a $3.70 favourite with PlayUp.

“I’m happy with her and she’s equally well placed at set weights and penalties,” Cummings said,
He said from barrier four she was guaranteed to get a good run.
“Some of her main dangers are drawn wider, so she looks to give herself every opportunity after that first-up run,” he said.
“She’s improved quite a bit off that first-up run and I think she’s ready to run a good race.”
