NBA Preview: April 7

In our last preview of the 2022-23 National Basketball Association regular season, hopefully Good Friday is good to us, and we come away with three victories. Here are three teams we like on National Beer Day!

Toronto Raptors @ Boston Celtics–7:30 PM ET

The Celtics are second in the East at 55 wins and 25 losses. The Raptors are ninth in the East at 40 wins and 40 losses.

My Take:

This game means more for Toronto than Boston tonight. The Raptors are battling with the Atlanta Hawks for the eighth seed and a better position in the play-in tournament. There is a good chance the Celtics will rest some players. Take the Raptors at +2.5, and the over at 223.5. The Celtics have been involved in games over 223.5 points in seven of their last 10 games.

Philadelphia 76ers @ Atlanta Hawks–7:30 PM ET

The 76ers are third in the East at 52 wins and 28 losses. The Hawks are eighth in the East at 41 wins and 39 losses.

My Take:

This game means more to Atlanta than Philadelphia. The Hawks are battling the Raptors for the eighth seed and a better position in the play-in tournament. There is a good chance the 76ers will rest some players. Take the Hawks at -9. Please note the over/under line here has not been set as of yet, presumably because we do not know how many players 76ers head coach Doc Rivers will rest.

Phoenix Suns @ Los Angeles Lakers–10:30 PM ET

The Suns are fourth in the West and are at 45 wins and 35 losses. The Lakers are seventh in the West at 41 wins and 39 losses.

My Take:

The Suns have won seven straight, but are playing the second game of a back-to-back after beating Denver 119-115 last night. LeBron James has now played six games since being out a month with a foot injury and has scored 70 points over the last two games. Take the Lakers at -4 and the over at 225.5. The Lakers have been involved in games of more than 225.5 in their last eight contests.
