Moses urges Eels to give Brown ‘as long as he wants’ to play field

Mitchell Moses has called for the Parramatta Eels management to give semi-free agent Dylan Brown “as much time as he wants” to test the field in an effort to keep his preferred partner at the club.
Brown’s agent contacted every NRL club – and several rugby outfits – to see if they’d be interested in his services from 2026 on.

Unsurprisingly, most were; not least the Newcastle Knights, Redcliffe Dolphins, and St George Illawarra Dragons, all of whom started preparing offer packages. Each of those three leading suitors could well do with a dominant five-eighth.
From the Eels’ side of things, the club has been somewhat happy to wait, The Sporting Base understands.
Parramatta’s powerbrokers don’t want to wait forever though, and have whacked a Round 1 deadline on proceedings.
That’s despite Brown having up until Round 10 to make the call on his 2026 and 2027 options. He doesn’t have to tell his current club what he’s going to do until early May.
The Sporting Base has heard Eels management is pretty frustrated with that.
Moses thinks it’s only fair though — and he’s urged those higher up at the club to give him time. When asked about whether he wants to see things wrapped up quickly (and if he knew where Brown might be leaning), he said, “It’s up to him, you [have to] give him as much time as he wants.”
“I might start to [get in his ear], I love the kid and what he does outside of footy is what nobody sees — he has a massive effect on the Parramatta area and I really hope he stays.
“He knows I love playing with him, and I think everyone else in the team loves playing with him, so he knows where we all stand.
“I hope he stays, I love him, I love him to death,” Moses added.
“I feel like I play my best footy with Dylan. That’s a decision he’s going to have to make in due course.”
