There has been a lot of speculation lately that Australia’s Min Woo Lee of Perth, would soon be leaving the PGA Tour for the LIV Tour. There are currently four Australians on the LIV Tour. They are 2022 British Open champion Cameron Smith of Brisbane, Lucas Herbert of Bendigo, Matt Jones of Sydney, and Marc Leishman of Warrnambool, and there was a belief that it would be just a matter of time before Lee would join them.

Well, it appears those rumours came been squashed. According to Mark Wakefield of The Mirror on Friday, Lee has put out the following statement:

“There’s been a lot of rumours. I’m not going and am just going to play on the PGA Tour. So, I’m happy with where I’m at and, yeah, I’m look forward to next year.”

However, based on recent history, one has every right to wonder if Lee will end up playing on the LIV Tour at some point and if we can trust his recent comments. Three years ago, Jon Rahm, the Spanish golf superstar made this statement about the possibility of him leaving the PGA Tour for LIV. “I’ve never really played the game of golf for monetary reasons. I play for the love of the game, and I want to play against the best in the world. I have always been interested in history and legacy, and right now the PGA Tour has that.” However, a year later, Rahm joined the LIV Tour.

Lee is currently 46th in the Official World Golf Rankings and the top Australian. His lone PGA Tour win came at the 2025 Texas Children’s Houston Open.
