In the 14th of 30 NBA previews prior to the start of the season, we will take a look at the Milwaukee Bucks. In this preview, we will discuss Milwaukee’s key acquisitions, fantasy stars and predicted finish.

Key Acquisitions

The Milwaukee Bucks made zero off season acquisitions of note. Why would they need to? Milwaukee won the 2021 NBA Finals and was tied with the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers for the second best record in the Eastern Conference in the 2021-22 NBA regular season.

Fantasy Star

The fantasy star for the Milwaukee Bucks is without a doubt big man Giannis Antetokounmpo of Athens, Greece. The 27-year-old is ranked fourth among centers and fifth among power forwards. Last season he averaged 29.9 points per game (a career-high), 11.6 rebounds per game, 5.8 assists per game, 1.4 blocks per game, 1.1 steals per game, a .553 field goal percentage, .293 three-point percentage, and a .722 free throw percentage.

A six-time all star, Antetokounmpo has has many remarkable accolades over the last nine years in Wisconsin. They include being a five-time All-Defensive player, two-time NBA MVP (2019 and 2020), 2017 NBA Most Improved Player, 2020 NBA Best Defensive Player of the Year, and 2021 NBA Finals MVP.

One thing you will expect from in Antetokounmpo is big minutes. He has averaged 32.6 minutes per game in his career.

Predicted Finish

The Bucks are still one of the elite teams in the league, with Antetokounmpo leading the way. Due to the fact they have an experienced nucleus as a supporting cast that includes Jrue Holliday, George Hill, Grayson Allen, Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez, Pat Connaughton, Bobby Portis, Wesley Matthews and Serge Ibaka, the Bucks need to be considered a contender to win their second NBA Finals in three years. I have the Bucks as the top team in the Eastern Conference, while Joel has them as the third seed in the East, behind the Celtics and 76ers.
