The Milwaukee Bucks are the top team in the Eastern Conference. Now they are being recognized in the National Basketball Association for their blowout victories. On Monday, the Bucks became the fifth team in the history of the league to win consecutive games by 40 points or more.

On Saturday at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the Bucks hammered the Charlotte Hornets 137-96. Remarkably, nine Bucks players reached double digits in scoring with Giannis Antetokounmpo leading Milwaukee in scoring with 26 points. No Bucks player recorded a double-double in the 41 point victory. Eric Bledsoe led Milwaukee with 10 assists and Pat Connaughton led the Bucks with 10 rebounds.

Then on Monday in Milwaukee, the Bucks hammered the New York Knicks by 44 points in a convincing 132-88 win. This game was a complete blowout by half time as Milwaukee had a 72-45 lead at the break. Once again Antetokounmpo led the Bucks in scoring as he had 29 points. This time, however, he had a double-double as the Greek Freak had 15 rebounds.

According to ESPN, the Bucks are the second team this season to win by 40 points or more in two straight games. On November 20, the Dallas Mavericks hammered the Golden State Warriors 142-94 and then on November 22 beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 143-101. Luka Doncic had a triple-double against the Warriors as he had 35 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. Then against the Cavaliers, Doncic had 30 points and 14 assists.

The other teams to accomplish this miraculous achievement are the Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings and New York Knicks. On April 14, 1989, the Suns hammered the San Antonio Spurs 137-91 and then beat the Sacramento Kings 140-85. In a remarkable display of passing, Kevin Johnson had 20 assists in the game over the Spurs and 15 assists against the Kings.

On December 28, 1992, the Kings hammered the Dallas Mavericks 139-81 and then on January 1, 1993, clobbered the Philadelphia 76ers 154-98. Walt Williams had 60 points in the two games for Sacramento, including a 40 point performance against Philadelphia.

Then for their second and third last games of the 1993-94 NBA regular season, the Knicks hammered the 76ers 130-82 on April 20, 1994 and then the Bucks 125-85 on April 21. Patrick Ewing led the Knicks in scoring in each contest and had 48 points overall.

The Bucks will try to make it three straight games in winning by 40 points or more Wednesday in Detroit. Milwaukee is first in the East with a record of 18-3.
