Miami reaches the 2023 NBA Finals

The Miami Heat won their first three games of the Eastern Conference Finals. They then lost their next three games, before steamrolling past the Celtics in the seventh game of the best out of seven series at Toronto Dominion Garden in Boston, Massachusetts with a 103-84 win on Monday.
In a more defensive minded battle than expected, the Heat need to be praised for their overall team defense. They limited the Celtics to 15 first quarter points and 18 fourth quarter points on Boston’s home court.
It was a poor game for Celtics star Jaylen Brown. He was a -17 with eight turnovers.
Five Heat players reached double digits in scoring. Power forward Jimmy Butler of Houston, Texas led the way with 28 points. Small forward Caleb Martin of Winston-Salem, North Carolina had 26 points, center Bam Adebayo of Newark, New Jersey had 12 points, while small forward Duncan Robinson of York, Maine, and point guard Gabe Vincent of Modesto, California had 10 points each. Robinson had his 10 points while coming off the bench.

Two Heat players had double-doubles. Martin and Adebayo had 10 rebounds each.
As we now look to the NBA Finals, it will now be interesting to monitor Vincent’s ankle. He had to miss game five of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Celtics because of an ankle sprain, but came back to play games six and seven.
The Heat will now play the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals, which starts Thursday. Denver beat Miami twice this season. They won the first game by a score of 124-119 on December 30, and then won the second game 112-108 on February 13.
