Mariners sign outfielder Rob Refsnyder

The Seattle Mariners have signed outfielder Rob Refsnyder of Seoul, South Korea on Monday. The terms of the deal are one year, and $6.25 million according to Rogers Sportsnet.
Refsnyder is joining his seventh Major League Baseball team. He was previously with the New York Yankees (2015 to 2017), the Toronto Blue Jays (2017), Tampa Bay Rays (2018), Texas Rangers (2020), Minnesota Twins (2021), and Boston Red Sox (2022 to 2025). In 2019, Refsnyder was in the minor league systems for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Cincinnati Reds, but did not play a Major League Baseball game.
In 2025 with the Red Sox, Refsnyder batted .269 with nine home runs and 30 runs batted in. During 70 games, 182 at bats and 209 plate appearances, Refsnyder scored 29 runs and had 49 hits, 12 doubles, three stolen bases, 24 walks, 88 total bases, two sacrifice flies, an on base percentage of .354, and a slugging percentage of .484.

Twice this past season Refsnyder had three hits in a game. He had two doubles and a single in a 10-3 Red Sox win over the Chicago White Sox on April 18, and then two singles and a home run in a 19-5 Red Sox romp over the Baltimore Orioles on May 23.
It is very possible that Refsnyder could see regular playing time in the outfield for the Mariners in 2026. The two primary outfielders are Randy Arozarena of Mantua, Cuba and Julio Rodriguez of Loma de Cabrera, Dominican Republic. Refsnyder’s 2025 statistics were better than projected starting right fielder Victor Robles of Santo Domingo Este, Dominican Republic. Last season, Robles only batted .245 with one home run and nine runs batted in.
