Mal Meninga Joins The Gold Coast Titans

The Gold Coast Titans have appointed the 13th NRL Immortal Mal Meninga as Head of Performance and Culture.
Meninga, the Australian Kangaroos Coach, was brought in by the Titans board to help build a club that hasn’t tasted finals football since 2016 and to put them back on a winning track.
Meninga is no stranger to success, he was the coach of the dominant QLD Origin dynasty that secured Queensland eight Origin shields from 2006-2013 and as a player, he won the NRL premiership for the Canberra Raiders.
The Titans had a horrid 2018 season finishing in second last and the players showed lackluster performances.
Meninga and coach Garth Brennan want to turn things around and the goal for the Titans in 2019 is to make the top eight and be in finals contention again.
CEO Todd Greenberg said boldly in a statement this is a momentous day for the Gold Coast club.
“The NRL needs a strong team on the Gold Coast and Mal’s track record of success including building winning team cultures at State and national level – will help achieve that.”
Executive Chairman Dennis Watt of the Titans reiterated by saying that Mal’s leadership prowess and presence will be a massive help for our club moving forward.
“To have someone like Mal Meninga, with everything that he has achieved in the game, be so excited about joining the Titans is a terrific show of faith and belief in the strength, leadership and potential of the Gold Coast.”
