Los Angeles Lakers small forward LeBron James of Akron, Ohio, who The Sporting Base declared as the fourth greatest player of all-time in 2019, recorded his eighth career National Basketball Association buzzer beater on Wednesday. He accomplished the feat with an unassisted two point field goal at the rim in a dramatic 120-119 Lakers win over the Indiana Pacers.

James finished the game with 13 points. He actually had a double-double as he had 13 rebounds too.

When it comes to most buzzer beaters ever, James is second on the list with eight. Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan of Brooklyn, New York is first all-time with nine buzzer beaters. James’s Wednesday buzzer beater also had historical consequence. He became the oldest player ever to make a buzzer beater at 40 years and 86 days old.

Of James’s eight career buzzer beaters, six have come with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and one each with the Lakers and Miami Heat. He also accomplish the feat in a 106-105 Cavaliers win over the Golden State Warriors on January 23, 2009, in a 96-95 Cavaliers win over the Orlando Magic in game two of the Eastern Conference Finals on May 22, 2009, in a 103-102 Heat win over the Pacers in game one of the Eastern Conference Finals on May 22, 2013, in a 86-84 Cavaliers win over the Chicago Bulls in game four of the Eastern Conference Semifinals on May 10, 2015, in a 140-138 Cavaliers win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on February 7, 2018, in a 98-95 Cavaliers win over the Pacers in game five of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals on April 25, 2018, and in a 105-103 Cavaliers win over the Toronto Raptors in game three of the Eastern Conference Semifinals on May 5, 2018.
