LeBron James delivers with key three-pointer to send the Lakers to the playoffs

LeBron James continued to add to his impressive resume on Wednesday. Moments after being poked in the eye by Warriors forward Draymond Green, James delivered with a remarkable three-point shot with only 58.2 seconds left and helped the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Golden State Warriors 103-100 in the Western Conference 7-8 play-in game.
The game was a tied with a century apiece with just under a minute left, when Kentavious Caldwell-Pope found James, who made a 34-foot shot from downtown. The fact that James was able to see the basket clearly was fascinating because it took him a while for his vision to clear up.
James may not have led the Lakers in scoring with 22 points (Anthony Davis had a team-high 25 points), but he did have a triple double. He had 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

One could argue the transformation of James’s style of game adds to his overall mystique as one of the greatest players of all-time (we rank him fourth behind Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar). At the beginning of his career, James was known for his powerful dunks and dominance in the paint. Now at the age of 36, James has developed into a powerful all-round star who can be dangerous in many different facets on the court.
Now James and the Lakers will have their work cut out for them in the first round of the NBA Playoffs against the Phoenix Suns. Like the Lakers, the Suns have an aging superstar in 36-year-old point guard Chris Paul, who has averaged 16.4 points per game, and 8.9 assists per game himself.
The Warriors meanwhile are not eliminated. They will now play the Memphis Grizzlies in the eighth place game on Friday. The Grizzlies beat the San Antonio Spurs 100-96 in the 9-10 game on Wednesday.
