For the second time in his National Football League career, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson of Pompano Beach, Florida won the NFL Most Valuable Player Award. After winning the award the first time in 2019, on Thursday he won it again.

Jackson got 49 of the 50 first place votes. The only person who did not vote for Jackson was Aaron Schatz of FTN Fantasy, who voted for Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills. This past season, Jackson completed 307 passes in 457 attempts for 3678 passing yards. He also had 24 touchdown passes and seven interceptions, to go along with a passer rating of 102.7. It was on the ground where Jackson delivered with excellence too. He had 148 rushes for 821 rushing yards and five touchdown runs, including a NFL high 5.5 yards per carry. As a team, the Ravens also led the NFL with a record of 13 wins and four losses.

Jackson was one of three quarterbacks to win an award. Cleveland Browns quarterback Joe Flacco of Audubon, New Jersey won the NFL Comeback Player of the Year, and Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud of Rancho Cucamonga, California won the offensive rookie of the year. Interestingly, Stroud beat Flacco 45-14 in one of six wildcard games.

There were two Texans and three Browns to win NFL Awards. Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was named coach of the year, Browns defensive end Myles Garrett of Arlington, Texas was named the defensive player of the year, and Texans defensive end Will Anderson Jr. of Hampton. Georgia was named NFL defensive rookie of the year. Meanwhile, San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey of Castle Rock, Colorado was named the NFL offensive player of the year after leading the NFL with 1459 rushing yards.
