The Oklahoma City Thunder are supposed to be rebuilding. You would not know it however by their performances this season against the star-studded Los Angeles Lakers. In two contests against the Lakers, the Thunder have been the team that showed exceptional maturity and poise, in delivering two impressive come from behind wins for the ages.

On October 27, the Thunder were in fact trailing 56-30 to the Lakers in the second quarter when they came back to win 123-115. It tied the longest comeback in Thunder franchise history.

Then on Thursday, the Lakers blew a 19-point lead at home after leading the Thunder 44-25 with six minutes and 21 seconds left in the first half. After the Lakers led by 19, the Thunder outscored the Lakers 82-60 for the 107-104 win.

The Lakers had a chance to tie the game with 3.5 seconds left, but point guard Russell Westbrook missed a 28-foot three pointer which could have tied the contest at 107 points apiece. The Thunder star on Thursday was Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of Toronto, Ontari, Canada, who led the team with 28 points.

A total of six Thunder players reached double digits in scoring. Fellow Canadian Luguentz Dort of Montreal, Quebec had 17 points. Meanwhile, Ty Jerome had 14 points and Kenrich Williams had 13 points off the bench. Darius Bazley also had 14 points, and Derrick Favors had 10 points. At the center position, Favors had a double-double, as he had 11 rebounds.

The wins over the Lakers, are the only two wins for the Thunder this season. They also have six losses. Los Angeles meanwhile drops to five wins and four losses.
