Knicks deliver another remarkable comeback

The New York Knicks made NBA history on Wednesday. They became the first team ever to come back from 20 point deficits in back-to-back postseason games to win. After coming back from a 72-52 deficit to beat the Boston Celtics 108-105 in game one, the Knicks were down 73-53 with three minutes and 12 seconds left in the third quarter before outscoring Boston 38-17 in the final 15 minutes and 12 seconds to win 91-90. With the wins, the Knicks lead the best out of seven Eastern Conference semifinal series two games to none.

The Knicks seemed to get momentum at the end of the third quarter. It is at this time they went on an 8-0 run to pull within 12 points. New York got three-point shots from shooting guard Josh Hart of Silver Spring, Maryland, and point guard Miles McBride of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Then in the fourth quarter, the Knicks outscored the Celtics 30-17. Guard Jalen Brunson made the game-winning shot on a free throw with the game tied at 90 points apiece and 12 seconds left in the basketball game.

Four Knicks players reached double digits in scoring. Hart had 23 points, center Karl-Anthony Towns of Edison, New Jersey had 21 points, Brunson had 17 points, and small forward Mikal Bridges of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania had 14 points. Towns had the double double, as he added 17 rebounds.

Another interesting statistic is the fact that the three Knicks on the bench were a combined +32 and the starters were a combined -27. All the Knicks players on the bench were a plus, and all five starters were a minus. Center Mitchell Robinson of Pensacola, Florida was a +19.
