A competitive field have assembled for Kingston Town Classic over 1800m with many gallopers having claims to take it out. Plenty of speed early and the track conditions will give every galloper its chance.

We’re back to have another crack at Ascot on Saturday and if you followed our tip from last week (Hey Doc @ $13)  your pockets will be full and you’ll no doubt be looking to improve your winnings.

Chris Camilleri has taken a look at The Kingston Town Classic and has given his thoughts below.

Track Conditions
  • Good 4
  • Rail: True Entire

Ascot Races

Track Bias

Expecting an even track with all runners getting their chance dependent on individual race pace.

Early Speed
  • Above Average

Expecting an above-average early pace here with The Velvet King (10) & Gailo Chop (12) both looking to lead with pace also from Pacodali (13), Achernar Star (16) Gatting (9) & Best Of Days (2)

Top Pick

Putting the Lindsey Smith trained 7. Pacodali on top here at each-way odds, the gelding has been ultra-consistent this preparation highlighted by the last start win the Eclipse Stakes over 1800m at Sandown, jumped well to sit on the pace and showed a brilliant turn of foot late to put them away. Jockey Dean Yendall will roll forward from barrier 13 to sit handy to the pace and give him every chance to be in the finish.

Dangers

Lightly raced 3YO Filly 16. Tuscan Queen for Alana & Grant Williams will appreciate the step up to 1800m after a dominant win last start sitting along way off the pace in the Group 3 Champion Fillies over 1600m at the track, the daughter of Fastnet Rock sat back and recorded some very slick sectionals late going away from them on the line, can settle closer to the speed from barrier 3 and will be the one flashing home late. Godolphin trained 5. Best Of Days loomed as the winner last start in the Railway Stakes before getting run down late over 1600m, slight query at the 1800m but a big positive is the barrier as Brad Rawiller will be able to give the gelding a beautiful run right behind the pace and saved for one sprint at them late.

Betting Strategy

Back – Pacodali (1 Unit Win Bet)

Back – Tuscan Queen  (2 Unit Win Bet)

Back – Best Of Days (1 Unit Win Bet)
