Kah scores treble at Flemington

Jamie Kah has skipped clear in the Victorian Metro Jockey Premiership race after a hat-trick of wins at the New Year’s Day program at Flemington.

Frost Flowers ($5.50), Sirius Suspect ($2.90) and Hasseltoff ($3.90) were all guided to victory at headquarters under the in-form jockey. 

Frost Flowers produced an impressive debut winning the New Year Sprint down the straight and now looks to go on to contest some nicer 2-year-old races in the coming months. 

“I knew she had talent and the team did too, but she’s just been so green and we haven’t really been able to see her do that yet.” said Kah.

“She was so green the other day at the jump outs and I never got to have a decent feel of her, but today she was an absolute professional.”

Kah then went on to steer Sirius Suspect to win the Group 3 Standish over 1200 metres. The pair have created a nice partnership after coming together to score back to back wins. 

“I haven’t had much to do with Saab before riding this beautiful horse but he knows him so well and he knew exactly what he wanted to do.” Said Kah.

“He’s a very horse-orientated horse. He likes being amongst them. He ran absolutely super.”

Hasseltoff completed the winning treble for Kah in the Off The Track Program Handicap over 1700 metres. 

With her treble today Kah now leads the Melbourne Metropolitan Premiership race by nine wins ahead of Damien Oliver and ten ahead of Damien Lane. 

Kah will be looking to extend that lead with a nice book of rides at Caulfield tomorrow.
