Justin Rose wins 2023 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

For the 11th time in his golf career, Justin Rose of London, England is a PGA Tour champion. On Monday, Rose shot a four-round score of -18 to win the 2023 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am from Northern California.

Rose, who won the U.S. Open in 2013, and the gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, beat Americans Brandon Wu of Danville, California, and Brendon Todd of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania by three strokes. Wu and Todd each had scores of -15. The tournament had inclement weather Saturday and Sunday, which forced the Pro-Am to finish on Monday.

Rose posted back-to-back scores of three-under-par 69 over the first two rounds. That was followed by a score of six-under-par 65 in round three, and six-under-par 66 in round four.

It should be noted that players play on three different courses in the area–Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill, and Monterey Peninsula. Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill each have a par of 72, while Monterey Peninsula has a par of 71. In round three Rose competed on Monterey Peninsula (over a span of two days) and had an eagle on the par five 16th hole.

The eagle on the par five 16th hole in round three, was one of three eagles for Rose during the tournament. He in fact had an ace on the 15th hole on the par-three at Spyglass Hills in round two, and an eagle on the par-five sixth hole in round four at Pebble Beach.

It is not all about eagles though. It should be noted that Rose had five eagles during 72 holes at the 2022 RBC Canadian Open, but had to settle for fourth place after posting a four-round score of -14. Rory McIroy, who had zero eagles, shot a four-round score of -19 to win in Toronto last year.
