Jhonattan Vegas of Maturin, Venezuela continues his lead at the 2025 PGA Championship. Vegas sizzled in round one as he had a first round score of seven-under-par 64. In round two, he only shot a second round score of 70. However, it was good enough to be on top of the leaderboard, like where he was after Thursday. Vegas is currently at -8.

In round two, Vegas had four birdies, one bogey, and one double bogey. He birdied the seventh, 10th, 13th, and 14th holes, bogeyed the second hole, and double bogeyed the 18th hole. The 18th hole played very difficult in round two as several players went two over par.

Vegas, meanwhile, got a lucky break on the 17th hole. Vegas’s shot hit a rake, and landed on the green. He ended up shooting par.

There were five players in contention. There is a three-way tie for second place at -6. There you can find South Korea’s Si Woo Kim, France’s Matthieu Pavon, and England’s Matt Fitzpatrick. Of the three is one major champion as Fitzpatrick won the 2022 United States Open. Kim, meanwhile, made an ace as he had a hole in one on the sixth hole from 252 yards. It turned out to be the longest hole in one in major golf history. Ironically, Kim had the previous record as he made a hole in one that went 238 yards at the 2024 British Open.

Meanwhile, there are two players tied for fifth place at -5. The golfers three strokes back are Americans Max Homa and Scottie Scheffler. Homa almost made an albatross. On the 14th hole, his shot landed 21 inches away from the cup, and settled for eagle. Scheffler, who is the co-favourite to win the title, is trying to win his third major after winning the 2022 and 2024 Masters.
