Italy’s Jannik Sinner has returned to number one in the world. On Sunday, Sinner won the 2025 Paris Masters 1000 Indoor event as he defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime of Canada in the final, 6-4, 7-6.
This was Sinner’s 23rd ATP title, and fifth ATP Masters 1000 series title. He has previously won the 2023 Canadian Open, the 2024 Miami Open, the 2024 Cincinnati Open, and 2024 Shanghai Masters.
Sinner has also won five titles in 2025. He has also won the Australian Open, Wimbledon, China Open and Vienna Open. In the world rankings, Sinner has 11 500 points and Alcaraz has 11 250 points. Alcaraz took over the world number one spot when he won the United States Open, but lost 90 points when he lost in the second round of the Paris Indoors to Cam Norrie of Great Britain, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. At the 2024 Paris Indoor, Alcaraz reached the third round before losing, 6-1, 3-6, 7-5 to Ugo Humbert of France. Sinner did not have any points to defend from the Paris Indoor a year ago because he did not participate due to a virus.
