James Dolan donates blood plasma after recovering from coronavirus

New York Knicks owner and executive chairman James Dolan of Massapequa, New York announced on Wednesday that he plans to donate his blood plasma after recovering from coronavirus according to Timothy Rapp of Bleacher Report. The National Health Service in Great Britain is requesting that people who recovered from coronavirus to donate blood so they can possibly help sick patients who are currently being treated in hospital. The bottom line is that medical professionals worldwide are learning about coronavirus as much as they can, and any information from others (including the blood of coronavirus survivors) would be extremely helpful at this time.
Dolan was diagnosed with coronavirus on March 28. However it took him nearly a month for him test negative for the horrendous disease. Dolan will be donating his blood to the Duke University Medical Center in North Carolina and the New York University Langone Hospital.
At 64 years of age, Dolan is one of the busiest sports executives in the United States. In addition to the Knicks, he also oversees the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League, the Hartford WolfPack of the American Hockey League and the New York Liberty of the Women’s National Basketball Association.
It will be interesting to see if by making this generous donation, if it will help Dolan’s overall public image. Over the last three seasons he has had conflicts with former Knicks player Charles Oakley and famous Knicks superfan and film director Spike Lee.
There are currently a staggering number of 276, 711 cases of coronavirus in New York State. There are also 21, 283 deaths.
