Grizzlies come through with a statement win over the Bucks

You could make the argument that the Memphis Grizzlies had one of their most impressive wins in franchise history on Thursday. They not just dominated the Milwaukee Bucks, they clobbered them by a score of 142-101.

During the Grizzlies beatdown over the Bucks on Thursday, Memphis was once leading Milwaukee by 50 points–121 to 71, in the early stages of the fourth quarter. Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant was the star of the team, as he had a triple double (25 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists) and was a +30. Remarkably, Morant did not lead the team in plus/minus as Tyus Jones was a +32 coming off the bench.

The 41-point loss was by far the biggest loss for the Bucks this season. However, the Bucks have already lost three games in 2022-23 by a significantly wide margin. They lost by 19 points in a 117-98 defeat to the Atlanta Hawks on November 7, by 18 points in a 111-93 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on November 11, and by 15 points in another loss to the Hawks (121-106 defeat on November 14).

The 41-point win for Memphis over Milwaukee comes a year after the Grizzlies had the most dominant regular season win ever in NBA history at 73 points. On December 2, 2021, the Grizzlies beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 152-79.

However on Thursday, they beat a Bucks team that has a record of 20 wins and eight losses, and is among the NBA’s elite squads.
